The Kenya Pavilion was today privileged to host Ambassador Fatma M. Rajab, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation in the United Republic of Tanzania. Ambassador Rajab was accompanied by the Head of Chancery (HOC), Embassy of the United Republic of Tanzania, Mr. Hangi Laban Mgaka among other key staff members from the Chancery and the Tanzania Pavilion at the Expo 2020 Dubai.
In 2019, Kenya exported over ksh. 33.6B worth of goods, compared to Ksh 29.7 B in the previous year. Kenya’s top export products to the East African country are; Organic surface-active agents (other than soap); surface-active preparations, washing preparations (including auxiliary washing preparations) and cleaning preparations, whether or not containing soap, Flat-rolled products of iron or nonalloy steel; Medicaments consisting of mixed or unmixed products for therapeutic; Self-propelled bulldozers, angle dozers, graders, levelers, scrapers, mechanical shovels, excavators, tamping machines, road rollers; Articles of plastic for the conveyance or packing of goods or closures stoppers, lids, caps, closures, plastic containers, boxes, crates, cases, bottles; Motor vehicles for transport of goods; Margarine; edible mixtures or preparations of animal or vegetable fats & oils salad & cooking oil.
Ambassador Rajab commended Kenya for a spectacular job on the pavilion, giving the world a glimpse of Kenya’s investment opportunities. She noted the longstanding relationship between the two countries that were recently strengthened by the renewed ties between the two East African States. The Ambassador was keen on the Technology, energy and innovation section at the Keya Pavilion which explored Kenya’s journey in realizing the vision 2030 Agenda. Ambassador Rajab applauded Kenya’s ability to innovate, complete projects and grow power generation with steady increases in supply and demand over the years.
Kenya seeks to be the hub for international electrification connections within the East Africa Region and beyond, by building up the transmission connections, increasing local electricity supplies, ensuring lower prices and increased income opportunities for all.
